AGM Appreciation Lunch
For the first 40 members to attend the AGM, there's a special incentive. Members who attend will receive a $10 gift card and a frozen Lasagna meal from the Westend Seniors Activity Centre kitchen, delivered to you on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 during the day by Drive Happiness. The Lasagna is the hottest selling meal at the Westend Activity Centre, and we had to make special arrangements to get it for you. But that’s how important our members are to us.

You had to have been a member before January 26th of 2021 to participate in the AGM because our by-laws say that all members must be notified 30 days before the annual meeting. The gift cards and meal are for members currently in good standing of ESC who attend the Annual General Meeting of ESC members. Letters from Historic Characters
My name is Yu Ting and I am writing on behalf of Barkerville Historic Town & Park, an 1860s historic gold rush town that is located in central British Columbia. The circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic have had a profound effect on all of our lives, and in response, our organization has recently started a campaign entitled “Greetings from History: 2000 Letters for the Lonely”, in which our historical interpreters will craft personalized, handwritten letters to be sent out to those in need of human connection. The letter is intended to be a surprise, and hopefully a delightful distraction from the isolation that we are all facing. Because of our partnership with the Tegler Trust, DynaLife, the West End Seniors Activity Centre, ICAN (The Chinese Centre), and Drive Happiness, we were able to deliver 125 turkey dinners on Boxing Day. Each bag contained a turkey meal with all the trimmings, a stuffy to hug, a holiday card, extra soup, a resource guide and a lot of love. The Tegler Trust Board of Directors was exceptionally Generous in allow us to do things differently this year. It took a lot of extra people and help to get a nice turkey dinner into the hands of seniors, many of whom were alone during the holiday. Our YEG Seniors Alliance Partners helped with food and additional goodies in the bag. We had donations from ICAN, who provided lovely new stuffies, and Drive Happiness Drivers…
