Not all seniors have cell phones and the new On Demand Bus requires you to have a cell phone to book your return ride. If you are one of the people who are not able to use the City’s On Demand Bus Service because a cell phone is required to book returns, you need to call and let the City know about your issues for this concern to be counted. See the phone number below.
If you find yourself in that position, you might be able to travel with someone who has a cell phone and can book the return for both of you. While you can book your one way ride to the place you are going to connect with a regular bus route from your landline, you must have a cell to book the return On Demand Bus.
The 111 is the route that goes into Kingsway and into Central Lions Seniors Centre, as well as downtown by City Hall and Sage, but On Demand takes some people to Westmount where the 111 can be caught and to the transit centre by the museum, which should allow connection to the 111 if you are trying to get home.
Concerns and questions specific about On Demand should be addressed to the call Centre at 780-496-2400 and not 311.
