We had a senior die last week. We might have been able to save him but it took us 36 hours to find him, a lot of detective work by people who cared and didn't give up trying, and police involvement. Why? Because the senior moved six months ago and didn't update his profile to tell us his new address, so when he collapsed during a Zoom meeting, the instructor, once they realized they had the old address on the roster, called us immediately, as is our policy. But because this person had not updated us with either their current address nor their emergency contact information, we could not get them the kind of immediate help they needed. I bet you didn't know that Willie Wong, apart from being a great artist and teach can cook! Have a look at his new Saturday afternoon class. These classes will begin in March. Check the website for dates. To register for the class go here: Courses Twice a month in March and April, Willie will be teaching Malaysian cooking, Nyonya style. This a an unique meals which was created after the colonialism in Malaysia. A blend of Chinese, Indonesian. Malay and Indian cuisine. All ingredients are available at either superstore or T&T grocery stores on Calgary trail. You'll be sent the shopping list before each session. The classes will be every other Saturday from 4 to 6pm, just in time for supper!
Starting in March, Willie Wong will be teaching a drawing class. This course is designed to jump start your desire to draw. Minimum tools are needed for this class; HB pencil, eraser and paper. That’s it! We will start by understanding shapes, light and perspectives. Other drawing materials, paper varieties. I will provide handouts for some tracing so we can learn to shade and learn values. It will be a 4 weeks in march, every Friday from 10:00am to 12 noon. REGISTER
